EMDR Therapy
Reprocessing trauma so it doesn’t keep resurfacing.

Trauma doesn’t just live in your memories. It can linger in your body, nervous system, and sense of safety. EMDR therapy offers a way to gently process painful experiences so you can move forward without constantly being pulled back.
At Integrative Counseling & Consulting, we use EMDR to help clients access deep healing in a way that feels safe and supported.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess trauma and other distressing life experiences. It’s been widely researched and shown to be highly effective in treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and more.
During an EMDR session, your therapist will guide you to briefly focus on a difficult memory while using bilateral stimulation like eye movements, sound, or gentle vibrations. This helps to reduce the emotional intensity and vividness of the memory. Over time, this process can help your brain store the experience in a more adaptive way so it no longer feels as triggering or overwhelming.
After EMDR, many people find that they begin to feel more present, more grounded, and more free.

How We Use EMDR

Our trauma-informed therapists are trained in EMDR and use it as part of a personalized, whole-person approach to care. We’ll never push you to go faster than you’re ready for. Instead, we pace each session thoughtfully, building a foundation of trust and safety before engaging in deeper trauma processing.
We can offer EMDR in person or via telehealth, depending on your needs. Our sessions include specialized equipment to support bilateral stimulation, including light bars, tactile “buzzies,” and headphones. No matter how we connect, the goal is the same: helping your nervous system complete what it couldn’t during the original trauma, and creating space for healing.
